Adventurous Meersburg, Germany

What an amazing night we had in Meersburg, Germany! Talk about finding a gem.
This picture perfect town is situated along Lake Constance, which is like Lake Erie size but with Mountains in the background.
The above photo is the view from our rooms window. The hotel we stayed in is just along the boardwalk and the rooms face the water, which makes for a beautiful view.
Before dinner we walked the boardwalk which is not too long but filled with places to eat and a few shops.
This town is so quant and beautiful but not a lot of young people come here (it seems) we were some of the youngest of all the people we saw, but I understand why, it's a gorgeous, small town that is quiet. We loved it!
The streets seemed like they were out of a movie. (If a movie hasn't been shot here it should, and it should be a romantic comedy, I say that because that's been our adventure here).

We got lost a few times on the way here, because we didn't have data, then just when we were about to turn around to ask for directions we realized we were sitting at our hotel.

After checking in and seeing our adorable room, we walked the boardwalk and found a place that we decided to have dinner outside and watch the sunset.
Our food wine and beer here were amazing. The prices in Germany are so much better than Switzerland.
We both had nice meals, I had a glass of wine, Brian had 3 beers and we got "desert" and the total was only $51. CRAZY cheap! They also provided blankets on the seats so once the sun went down you could use the blanket to keep warm.

We decided to be adventurous and order off the desert menu. Did I mention this was the ONLY place we had been so far, that didn't have an English menu? And neither of us know German! (Brian knows a few words from high school German class but not much) When we ordered our main course we used our translating app, so we sorta knew what we were getting, but not everything translated into English correctly. For instance, according to the app, I ordered penguin, which was actually shrimp. When it came time for desert, since our waitress spoke no English, we decided to "wing it."

My comment to Brian was "it's desert, so it will at least have sugar, maybe some chocolate and maybe some fruit." We went to take some photos after ordering the Kasevariationen (desert).

Once we returned to the table our "desert" had arrived.
A cheese plate it was! Normally I would have been excited but I was really looking forward to a yummy sweet treat.

The cheese was good, well some tasted like dirty feet, but most was good and I'm glad we tried it.
Note to future cheese platter partaker- they put a chunk of butter on the platter that looks JUST like cheese, but when you take a bite out of it, as I did, you realize it is NOT cheese.

We had a great walk back to the room, and went straight to sleep. We had full bellys and the sounds of the water all night was very relaxing.
