Wine and Canvas

First off if you live near a wine and canvas you need to get to one! My mom and sisters and I had a girls day and attended a class at wine and canvas. This was the most fun I have had for $30. We got to enjoy some wine and learn how to "look" like we were an artist. The picture we did I thought was going to be epic failure! But they honestly turned out great.

They walk you through everything and everyone's picture really does look great, but they are all a little different. The instructor was amazing. She was super fun, easy going, and a great teacher. I reccommend this to everyone and plan on going back very soon!!

Career Conference 2014

My job is amazing! Honestly amazing! I love my coworkers, my boss (myself), and working. How many people can say that and honestly mean it?
Mary Kay is an amazing company to be a part of, and getting to attend awesome conferences such as this one, is one of the millions of reasons I love my Mary Kay and I am so happy to say I am a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant!

I also learn so much at events like this one from different mentors in my Mary Kay career and I feel like at each event their is one person who says all the right things and pulls at my heart strings like no one else. This year it was National Sales Director Gay Hope Super. Not only is her name FULL of positives adjetives, but her whole attitude is so positive.

She has a cronic illness where she is ALWAYS sick yet she is a national sales director and inspires woman all over. She forgets her illness and never uses it as an excuse even when she was in the hospital for the better part of 4 years. I'm amazed! I'm blown away by her strength, attitude, and words of wisdom.

Don't get me wrong I learned a lot from the other speakers as well, I just felt like Gay was pulling my heart strings. She was saying everything I needed to hear and using all the right words to communicate it. Somedays it is hard to find the extra time to fit MK in and I tend to make excuses and after hearing her story I feel horrible for ever thinking I don't "feel up" for Mary Kay work today.

Today was a turning point in my business and my life. As Gay would say.... "I'm off to the shower to pray."

Balloon fun!

Today is one of those days when it seems like the clock is literally mocking you by saying "tick tok, tick tok" and in a very slow fashion!

To pass the time, while indoors, since it is rainy and cold outside, we are playing with a ton of balloons! I must say the baby of the family is loving it!
I'm surprised he is not floating!

Mary Kay Monday

I know it is Thursday but.....
The product of the week is the Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover.

It is not comparable to any other brand. I have customers who have switched to our makeup remover after years of using another high end remover.
It removes your makeup so easily and gently that you will never like another brand again. What if you wear industrial strength makeup? Well guess what? so do I and it works perfect! It's so important to be gentle with the area around your eyes because it is the only skin on your body not attached to muscle so instead of helping gravity by pulling and rubbing them every night, remove your makeup gently and efficiently with Mary Kay's eye makeup remover.

I am all for products that have duel purposes, and the makeup remover is one of those products that is a favorite because of its duel purposes. It's also great for people with sensitive eyes.

Here is a list of all the other purposes of the eye makeup remover:
-removes lip color (even red) from your lips quickly
-removes band aide residue
-removes scuffs on your floor
-removes fake tattoos super easy

With that many purposes and the fact it is saving your eyes, how could you not justify spending $15.00 plus tax on it? It last about 3-4 months if you use it with a cotton round instead of a cotton ball (The ball absorbs too much product and you will use too much, and most is being wasted).
Contact myself or your Mary Kay Consultant to get yours today, and don't forget if you don't like it (which I'm sure will not happen) you can return it for a full refund from your consultant.

Spa Day

I had such a wonderful day today. I spent my morning pampering my Dad, Grandma and Mamaw, with my sisters. My Mamaw, Grandma, and Dad all enjoyed mani pedis and facials. It was such a nice time.
After the morning spa time I got to come home and we had a very special visitor! Little miss Gwen Marie came to visit with her mommy and daddy. We had a great visit! Her and Brian had a special connection.

Exciting Day!

What an exiting and busy day. Woke up and had some breakfast before packing up my MK orders to be delivered today. I did some banking and delivered product to customers. Then I enjoyed lunch with an old friend. After lunch I went to Posh and sold my skirt extenders to them. We had dinner with my mom and enjoyed a nice evening with her.

The best part of today besides my lunch date was going into posh to "talk pricing." It's so exciting to make something and then have an actual buisness interested in selling your brand. I don't know what I would do if I was Calvin Kline or Michael Koors. My head would be huge. I also don't know what I will do when I see someone wearing my designs that is not myself or a family member. It's an exciting, accomplished feeling.

Overall it was a great day!

Mary Kay Monday

I may be a few days late but wanted to still do MK Monday. I've been a little under the weather and with daylight savings time changing this weekend, I have been all off.

This weeks featured product is the brush set.

I own these brushes and love them. They are the tools to my face. When you eat a meal you need spoons and forks and sometimes a knife. It's the same for applying makeup. You need "tools" or brushes. Mary Kay's brush set is $55.00 and some may think that is a little pricey, but in all honesty you can buy one brush for hundreds of dollars elsewhere.
The brush set includes a blush, powder, crease, eye shadow, brow tools and eyeliner brushes. It also comes in a great bag. These are the basics everyone should have.

Just like a kitchen the basics are silverware but most times you will require some serving utensils and cooking utensils that are good to have on hand when you need them. It is the same with makeup brushes. You may want a smudger brush to create a smokey eye, or a foundation brush to apply flawless foundation or other brushes for other looks.
I will touch base on the importance of each brush in a later post, but take a look in your makeup bag and see what you are missing. You may be surprised how much better your makeup looks when using a brush instead of an applicator. Contact your Mary Kay consultant or myself if you don't have one, to try out the brushes and see what all the "brush fuss" is about.

🎶Going to the Chapel 🎶

Got to spend the afternoon doing a bridal trial. I so loving doing others makeup and being and to put a great look together for someone for a special day.

Today I got to do a trial on a friend if my sisters who I have known for years. She was an awesome help at my wedding and I am so excited to help her during her big day in May!

She is such a beauty as is but I think her "grown-up glam" look turned out great. She is not used to wearing a lot of makeup but she does love wearing red lipstick. :-) such a joy!

She has Mary Kay hazelnut, iris, white lily, and copper glow on her eyes, strawberry and cream on her checks, and red passion and firecracker red on her lips.

Happy Mary Kay Makeover Day

Today was such a blessing! I was able to host a fun filled girls day with family and friends. MaryKay made-over  44,000 people last year on makeover day and the goal this year was to facial more than that. Today I was able to treat 11 friends and family members to a new look. We enjoyed a dessert bar, and got to play in the new products and try out a new look.

I am just so thankful for my business. I love my Mary Kay!!!

Working on our "Emotion Words"

I have been working with Austin on his feelings for the past 8 months and it is safe to say it has worked. Now we will start with the baby. A fun way to teach little kids about feelings is to create these flash card type things.
We have more but these were the first basic ones we did. At first we just talked about what they were and what each of his face expressions represented. After awhile he had them down pat and was using his "emotion words" during everyday life.

Next we started using them during reading time and he would hold up the emotion the character may be feeling during the story. He got really good at this as well.

Now we use them so he can tell me how he thinks his brother feels and also during reading time. These are a great way to teach them because they also see their own expressions.
You may wonder how I got him to make all those faces. Some I just asked, others I read a story and just had the camera ready for his face. You could also do your face if they are too young to make their own faces.

Pampering Time

It was a long day with a sick baby and a very hyper toddler so all I wanted to do when I got home was relax in some peace and quiet. I decided to get my Mary Kay Lemon Parfet Pedicure Set out and treat myself to a pedicure.
It's so nice to come home to my amazing husband. I am so thankful for Brian everyday, but especially on days like today. As I relaxed, Brian made dinner and rubbed my feet and was just so perfect. I'm very blessed to have found such an awesome, caring, loving husband. So thankful for Brian.

Mary Kay Monday- CC Cream SPF 15

BB and CC creams seem to be all the rage so when Mary Kay came out with their new CC cream last month, I had to give it a try. Let's just say I have tried it and I love it!

This product has 8 benefits in one product. The NEW CC Cream has an SPF of 15. The 8 benefits of this product are:

1. Protects your skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays
2. Brightens the overall tone of your skin
3. Corrects with a lightweight coverage
4. Minimizes redness
5. Conceals blemishes
6. Hydrates skin
7. Reduces visible signs of aging
8. Defends

                                                        Now for my personal take:
I love this product. It is a good add on to have in your makeup bag especially with the spring and summer months coming. It is great for that person who doesn't like a foundation look but also wants to conceal come blemishes. It is so lightweight, and would be a "must pack" item for the beach or pool for the summer. It makes your skin feel great. I also love the pump that the company has placed on the top of this bottle. I recommend that the company place this on the foundations as well. It helps you get a perfect pump each time and not too much product. I also like that it comes in 4 easy shades so it's easy to match to all skin types.

Bring on the Snow

This winter has been such a pain! We have had record breaking snow fall and Brian and I had our furnace go out before the first big snow storm with sub below zero temps and -50 wind chills. Worse timing ever. After a new furnace we are ready for this next snow storm. They are predicting 7-11 inches of snow by Monday. Crazy to think it was 47 degrees today and tomorrow we could have over 4 inches of snow. Oh Mother Nature why did you have to be a woman? Your so indecisive!

Nonetheless Brian and I decided to enjoy the beauty today!  We took Riley for a long walk in Central Park. It was nice to see many others enjoying the day as well.

I love Central Park in Carmel. It's such a good walking place because it has this really cool boardwalk and pond area. The geese were still out and about enjoying the mostly frozen (thank god for the whirlpool sections) pond.

After Riley saw the geese on the ice he thought it would be ok for him to jump off the boardwalk onto the ice. I almost screamed but luckily it was solid and he just walked along side the deck and finally we got him back up. He is so rotten!
Glad we could enjoy the day before the freezing temps and snow arrives again. I think tomorrow we may be staying at home.
