Blessed by Mary Kay

Just like everything else in life you can go the internet and "google" some thing to get additional information. Mary Kay is one of those things that has false info online. I have read so much junk online that it makes me sad. People need to remember that there are sometimes "bad apples" and you shouldn't let their actions control your feelings for everyone else in that profession. Mary Kay is an amazing company to be a part of. I truely believe every woman should try MK once in their life. It may not fit every season of your life but I garentee it will fit one. I'm so thankful MK found me!

One reason I adore MK is one of the philosophy they live by which is "praising women to sucess!" Seminar is the BIGGEST celebration I have ever been a part of and am so thankful I was able to attend my third seminar this last week.

If your company doesn't appreciate you like this, you are in the wrong profession because everyone deserves to be recognized for a job well done!
A week filled with girlfriend time, Cinderella moments, evening gowns, performances, prizes, love, and faith.

The Start of Something New

Tomorrow is my first day of working my Mary Kay business on a full time basis. I'm a basket of emotions. I'm nervous, excited, scared, overwhelmed, happy, and thankful. I'm so blessed that my amazing husband is able to allow me to continue my journey with Mary Kay this way! Not everyone is as blessed to be able to have such a wonderful husband who has a tremendous amount of faith and trust in me. I'm ready to start a new chapter in my life and watch everything in my business change.
I'm ready to achieve my goals of:

Directorship by the end of 2014
Car by valentines day 2015
Two off spring directors by July 2015

Pink caddy here I come!

Plumbing Problems

This last week was my first full week of working from home as a Full time Mary Kay Consultant. It was also one of my husbands business trip weeks. So as Brian was in Mexico, my mom and I were deep cleaning and organizing our house.
Let's just say my moms Norwex products work wonders and our appliances and the whole house looked new. As I was finishing up the last room (the blue bathroom) and cleaning around the toilet, I noticed a small leak. When I examined this closer I decided I should get my mom. After getting her I decided the best idea was to shut off the water to the toilet and not use it until Brian came home and could figure it out. So that's what I did......

Except....
WATER STARTED GUSHING OUT OF THE WALL, like a firehose on the other side!
  Mom: "what did you do"
Me: "nothing, I don't know what to do"
Mom: "we have to shut off main water"
(Me trying to collect every towel in the house to collect the inches of water collecting in bathroom and spilling into hall)
Me:" I don't know where that is, I'll call dad, you call Plunbing Heating Paramedics"
Mom: "what? The paramedics? What's wrong?"
Me: "no they are the plumbers!"

After talking to my dad I realized where to shut off water. When I turned the handle, it snapped off in my hand! FML!

Thankfully there was another handle and I got H2O shut off. A few hours later the plumber came fixed the problem and left, but not before the pipe broke off in the wall.....
Oh and he had to cut a hole in the wall in the Dining Room, which I just cleaned and mopped.
$350 later it's fixed and I've decided every time Brian goes on business I just need to be ready for something to go wrong. :-(

Niagara Falls

Today Brandon, Brian and I got the privilege to go to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. It was so beautiful! Words can not even begin to describe the beauty of this destination.
We enjoyed lunch at the Skylon Tower in the Revolving Dining room. The views were great! The food was a bit pricey and not overly good. Just mediocre and nothing special. The view made up for it for sure.
After lunch we went on the HornBlower tour (Canada's version of the Maid of the Mist). It was so neat and worth the $17 a person cost (I believe in Canadian dollars and not US). I was surprised how quickly you actually get on the boat after buying your ticket. There were a ton of people and we were on the boat in less than 10 mins, which was the time it took us to take the elevator down, get out "mist" poncho on and board the boat.
When they say "mist" they mean more of a light rain! Granted your not totally soaked when you return but that is because it's also SUPER windy, so you dry off. The views down on the water were breathtaking and the photos don't do it justice.
Overall it was a GREAT decision to stop on at Niagara Falls on the way to Maine. I will say, there is plenty to do here, so the few hours we spent could have easily became a day or two. Until we return again the memories will have to last!

Prom weekend #2

This year was my baby sisters senior year prom! I was so excited to get to do her makeup for each of her high school proms! What great memories to charish!
She looked stunning as always!
And her makeup looked great, if I do say so myself. Thanks to Mary Kay Cosmetics and their awesome color line!
Her dress was so classic and went really well with the prom theme, which was The Great Gatsby.

Indy 500 Experience

What a great weekend! Got to spend it with some awesome friends camping out at the Indy 500 Coke lot! It was so great. Many memories made and looking forward to years to come.
We even got to go with 40,000 other people to see the great Jason Aldean! I can honestly say his concerts are so worth it! He is so good, and an amazing performer! There is nothing worse than seeing someone live and realizing they sound nothing like they do on the radio, but that's not the case for Jason. He sounds exactly the same, it's like your in a live music video!
We had a GREAT campsite thanks to my sister! We had 4 tents total, and tons of games,  DJ set up and a dance floor! It was awesome.

Indy 500+ great friends+ camping out+ 500 experience = no sleep and an extra day of recovery.

Mother's Day!

My Mom is amazing! I know most people say that I honestly wholeheartedly KNOW my Mom is amazing. She is so strong both mentally and physically. Any woman who can birth a child, let alone three, is strong. I am terrified if birthing a child someday.

She is beautiful both inside and out! She is a leader, a peacemaker, and a go getter. She has a go-give spirit, and more love than she knows what to do with. I adore my mom and see more and more of her in me everyday. I love you mom!

Bridal Party Dress fitting

Spent my Sunday in Terre Haute today. This town, although not my favorite, has do many wonderful memories. From college, to meeting my husband this town has provided me with a lot of cherished moments.

One of those memories being meeting one of my closest friends Kaci. I'm so excited to be a part of her big day in September. She was such an instrumental role in my wedding so I can't wait to repay the favor.

We all had such a great time trying on dresses today and luckily found the right ones for everyone.

Hopefully we will all still be able to wear the dresses in 5 months, but then again, two of the 6 bridesmaids are pregnant and will be pretty close to their due dates come time to walk down the aisle.

We picked our dresses and enjoyed a nice lunch at outback, followed by a DQ trip. Fun day with fun girlfriends.

Bridal Makeup Mary Kay Style

I had the pleasure of doing a long time friends bridal makeup a few weeks ago. It was such a joy to get to help her coordinate, plan, and execute her wedding, as well as do the makeup for her, her mother, and the brial party.

It was one of the many reasons that reminds me how blessed I am that Mary Kay found me and that it's a part of my life!

Prom weekend #1

What an exciting day! I got to enjoy a nice lunch with my girlfriends followed by my first of two Prom weekends. I got the privilege of doing my cousin Marisa's makeup for the second year in a row for her prom. I love that Mary Kay offers such great products which allows me to give girls a professional makeup look for their prom night. She looked gorgeous and I know she will have a great time and her makeup will last all night long thanks to Mary Kay's finishing spray!
Her dress was also beautiful!

Spring has Arrived

It's a sure sign that Spring has arrived when I can take the boys to the park for a picnic. They always love having a picnic  and now that I have a super easy system down it's so easy.

I start with two art boxes from the dollar store. I then make two seperate lunches inside, so that when we arrive at the park this is all we need (plus drinks) and they have a place to eat their food.
There is no need for plates, or a ton of plastic bags. It's also easy clean up because everything is either eaten or thrown out to the birds.

Evening project

If you only have a little time (an hour) and you are feeling creative and want a great end product, this is the project for you!

I really wanted to make a house number sign for our home and was trying to decide the best way to make a "T". After a little creative thinking, and a little sewing, I think it turned out pretty well.

Can You Hear the Rain?

Can You Hear the Rain?

(Act out the poem on a warm rainy day.)

"Pitter-patter, pitter-patter," can you hear the rain?
"Pitter-patter, pitter-patter," on the window pane.
"Pitter-patter, pitter-patter," let's go out to play.
I just love to jump in puddles on a rainy day.
Little raindrops, "Splashing, splashing," all across my face.
Little raindrops, "Splashing, splashing,” splashing every place.
"Pitter-patter, pitter-patter," do you hear that sound?
I just love to hear those raindrops falling to the ground.
In my red galoshes, I make lots of sploshes, jumping up and jumping down,
Turning 'round and 'round and 'round.
"Pitter-patter, pitter-patter," suddenly, I stop.
Then I fall down on the ground and make a big "kerplop!"
Little raindrops "Splashing, splashing,” splashing on my face.
Little raindrops, "Splashing, splashing,” splashing every place.
"Pitter-patter, pitter-patter," raindrops on the ground.
"Pitter-patter, pitter-patter," I just love that sound.

Wine and Canvas

First off if you live near a wine and canvas you need to get to one! My mom and sisters and I had a girls day and attended a class at wine and canvas. This was the most fun I have had for $30. We got to enjoy some wine and learn how to "look" like we were an artist. The picture we did I thought was going to be epic failure! But they honestly turned out great.

They walk you through everything and everyone's picture really does look great, but they are all a little different. The instructor was amazing. She was super fun, easy going, and a great teacher. I reccommend this to everyone and plan on going back very soon!!
